Meta is working on unveiling an AI chatbot. They have internally named “Gen AI Personas.” The chatbot aims to target its younger users. According to The Wall Street Journal, Meta intends to create many chatbot personas. These chatbots include options for celebrities to engage with their fan base.
This announcement will happen during Meta Connect, an event starting this Wednesday. These chatbots will be available in different “personas,” with more engaging interactions to captivate younger users. This move follows the remarkable rise of ChatGPT over the last year.
Meta has reportedly already experimented the chatbot personas on Instagram. The Wall Street Journal observed internal conversations, which showed that Meta experimented with personas like a “sassy robot.” Meta drew inspiration from the character Bender on Futurama. Also, Meta got inspiration from an excessively inquisitive character known as “Alvin the Alien.” There were concerns among employees that the latter could imply the bot’s intention to collect personal information.
Meta aims to develop numerous chatbots. According to the Journal, Meta has even made progress in developing a tool for chatbot creation. This tool will enable celebrities to craft their own personalized chatbots for fans to use. Furthermore, Meta will introduce chatbots geared towards enhancing productivity, as these chatbots will handle many tasks including coding.
