Azure OpenAI services

Microsoft’s Azure has announced the expansion of its OpenAI services to several global regions, providing users with access to GPT-35-Turbo and GPT-4.

In a strategic move, Azure, the cloud computing arm of Microsoft, has broadened its service footprint, which had been catering to regions including Japan East, Canada East, United Kingdom South, East US 2, and Australia East. This impressive array now stretches to encompass additional regions, including France Central, West Europe, East US, and South Central US.

The ongoing surge in Azure’s clientele, nearly tripling since its AI service overhaul, has set the stage for this groundbreaking expansion. With a staggering user count of nearly 11,000, and a daily influx of around 100 new users, the service has proven its mettle in diverse tasks such as content generation, document analysis, and customer support.

According to Kevin Souers, the CPO of Aprimo, users have been able to generate contents that are more personalised, creative and relevant. Hence, customers already using Azure OpenAI can join a waitlist to have access to GPT-4.

Azure embraces innovative technology

Recently, Azure embraced innovative and advanced technology to enhance customer experience, business productivity and efficiency. In addition to the expansion, Azure plans to use an AI optimised 4K GPU Cluster and expand its use of GPUs to hundreds of thousands by next year.

They also released the ND H100 v5 digital Machine series, trained with Nvidia H100 Tensor Core GPUs. The virtual machines are available in South Central United States and East US Azure regions.

The VMs have features including a low latency network, high computational power and scalable memory. Startups will be able to run generative AI applications on the VMs. According to Microsoft, operations performed on the virtual machines will be faster, while some LLMs will experience speed two times their usual speed.

Microsoft has continually shown its commitment to placing generative AI at the forefront of its services.
